New Applications for CACI
and CACII are accepted the first Saturday of each month and reviewed at
the monthly meeting of the Certification Board. Upon application
approval, the candidate will be sent instructions, deadlines, and the
National Certification Examination (NCE) for Addiction Counselors
Application. For incomplete applications, notification of discrepancies
and instructions to proceed will be provided.
Effective 12/3/2011, the Written Case History is no longer required for
certification.
For Example, applicants
submitting a new Initial CAC Application on January 7, 2012 which meets
minimum requirements, who then successfully passes the NCE (written exam)
during the March 2012 testing period, could be credentialed as a Certified
Addiction Counselor by approximately April 1, 2012. Eligibility to sit for
each testing period is dependent upon final CAC Application approval by
the Board.

Applications
Effective January 1,
2012, acceptance of New Applications for Certified Clinical Supervisor
(CCS) is on hold while the Certification Board evaluates and revises the
CCS Application and Testing process. When this process is complete, the
CCS Application and instructions will be posted to the website.
