* Work Experience - If less than 40 hours a week is worked, or if less than 100% of the employment is in addiction-related counseling, that should be reflected on the application. Volunteer time will only be considered if supervised by a GACA CCS.

4 Included in the total Education: basic counseling skills, individual counseling skills, group counseling skills, assessment and evaluation skills, documentation skills, general knowledge of anger management, denial, feeling, coping skills, pharmacology, relapse prevention, behavioral changing techniques, referral procedures, cultural diverse education.

l  Ethics, AIDS & Cultural Diverse Education are included in the total Education hours.

n  Bachelor's Degree or higher degree. Official college transcript required to document degree and/or educational hours claimed. Exceptions require a Certification Board ruling.

** CCS - 2 years as a clinical supervisor of addiction counselors as a CAC or above. Licensed applicants, i.e., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist, Psychiatrist who can demonstrate 5 years of addiction counseling experience may be granted a certified clinical supervisor status without CACII.

Ä 24 hours supervision by a CCS required to renew unless you hold a current CCS credential along with a current CACII, NCACII, MAC or valid license in lieu of state certification.

+ Hours must be specifically designed to enhance skills as a clinical supervisor. Total education hours must include Forum on Clinical Supervision (4.0 hours).
